Noir Blossom
A dark bloom at first light. A single black silk flower opens on ivory sinamay, while fine veiling falls over the crown like morning dew.
The flower is made entirely by hand. I dye the silk myself, cut every petal, then shape each one with heated irons using the Japanese art of somebana. Every curve you see is a petal pressed and formed one at a time. Around 7 hours of work go into this hat. Finished with invisible hand stitching in my studio in Bowral.
Wear it with: ivory, black, soft grey or crisp white. Worn on the right side, tilted slightly forward.
