HAT CARE

Each MICHAETT piece is individually handcrafted using traditional millinery techniques and carefully selected materials. With proper care, your MICHAETT hat will remain a treasured piece for many years to come.

Caring for Your Hat

  • Do not wash or dry clean your hat.
  • Remove light marks with a clean, slightly damp cloth.
  • Felt hats may be gently brushed with a soft hat brush.
  • If your hat becomes slightly damp, allow it to dry naturally away from direct heat and direct sunlight.
  • Never use a hair dryer, heater or tumble dryer to speed up the drying process.
  • MICHAETT hats are not designed to be worn in rain or prolonged damp conditions. Exposure to water or excessive moisture may alter the shape, finish or structure of the hat and may cause permanent damage.
  • Avoid crushing your hat or placing heavy objects on it.
  • Handle your hat with care, avoiding unnecessary pressure on trims, embellishments and delicate details.

Storage

When not in use, store your hat in its hat box or in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

  • Wide-brimmed felt hats should be stored upside down, resting on the crown, or on a suitable hat stand to help maintain the shape of the brim.
  • Occasion hats and fascinators should be be stored so that the brim remains unsupported and does not bear any weight. Ideally, place the hat in its hat box with the crown supported on a soft ball of acid-free tissue paper, allowing the brim to remain suspended and retain its shape.

Each MICHAETT occasion hat is supplied in a protective hat box, providing the ideal environment for long-term storage.
