Creating Your Perfect Hat

Every hat I make is designed with care, creativity, and attention to detail. I believe a hat should not only complement your outfit but also bring out your confidence and individuality. Whether you choose from my seasonal collection or commission a bespoke piece, my goal is to create something that feels truly personal and special to you.

How does my bespoke process work?

Each season, I create a new couture collection of 10 to 20 hats, from refined hairbands to dramatic statement pieces. You can choose one of these designs exactly as it is, or I can adapt it with your preferred colours and trims.

If you’d like something truly unique, I can also design and make a completely new piece just for you.

Do I need to book an appointment?

Yes, please. My days are often filled with crafting and sourcing materials, so booking ensures that I can dedicate time entirely to you. Simply send me an email or message, and I’ll arrange a suitable time.

What happens during an appointment?

If you’re preparing for a specific event, I recommend finalizing your outfit first. Bringing it with you—or fabric swatches—helps me work with your colours and silhouette. Together, we’ll try different shapes and trims to find the perfect style for you.

How many appointments will I need?

Usually, two to three. The first appointment (around an hour) is dedicated to designing your piece—this includes trying on styles, choosing colours, and deciding on the details. I take a deposit at this stage. If necessary, I’ll invite you for a fitting before your final visit to collect the finished hat.

Can I have something made if I’m not local?

Yes, of course. I regularly work with clients online. We can discuss your ideas via email and photos, or I can arrange a video call through Zoom or WhatsApp. A video consultation is often best, as I can show you materials from my studio and get a clear sense of your style.

Can I order a hat online?

Yes, simply send me a message with the hat you’re interested in. Payment is made in advance by bank transfer to MICHAETT.

Can you match my outfit colours?

Yes—I can custom-dye materials to ensure the perfect match.

How long will my hat take to make?

Most bespoke pieces take 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the complexity.

Can you create something quickly?

If needed, I can make a last-minute piece, sometimes within 24 hours, but rush orders may have an additional fee. For the best experience, I recommend booking early—especially during peak seasons like spring racing.

Can I buy something ready-made?

Yes, you’re welcome to purchase a design from my current collection or from the studio. I still suggest trying the hat on to ensure it’s perfect for you, as ready-made pieces are not refundable.

I don’t think hats suit me—can you help?

Absolutely. I believe there is a hat for everyone; it’s just about finding the right shape, proportion, and fit. I’ll take your measurements and guide you through different styles to find the perfect one for your features.
